Funding for Correctional EMR
During the past several months, the United States Government has initiated an historical economic stimulus plan that is designed to jump-start our sagging economy. Included in this plan are provisions to incent healthcare professionals and organizations to adopt EMR technology.
The government recognizes the benefits of adopting electronic medical records at every level to improve efficiency, reduce medical errors and optimize work flow.
Many of our existing and potential customers have inquired as to the availability of these funds to accommodate or supplement their EMR implementation in their respective jails. While the specifics of the plan are sufficiently vague at the moment, there’s no doubt that some of the money will reach county governments…eventually.
The increasing regulatory burden placed on healthcare providers in jails results in the creation of even more forms and additional paperwork. Never before in our history has a robust EMR been more relevant and we just don’t have the luxury of waiting for these bureaucratic mechanisms to play out. We can no longer afford the risks associated with inaction.
With shrinking county budgets and other financial constraints, many jails are unable to make the capital investment. All over the country, Jail Administrators are scouring grant applications or seeking other funding mechanisms with great vigor only to discover that the long arduous, process will not produce the desired result – that funding cannot be secured for an EMR purchase.
To that end, we at CorrecTek have devised our own “Stimulus Plan.” Our goal is to extend an opportunity to those jails that might otherwise be unable to invest in EMR.
At CorrecTek we will find a plan that will help you circumvent the RFP process and get EMR to your facility right a way.
